Courses

Courses are the heart of Spirit House.

A person standing at the entrance of a large, dark, swirling tunnel or vortex with glowing light at the far end. The tunnel has intricate, web-like patterns on its walls and appears to be surrounded by natural landscape, with trees and rocks visible.

Spirit House Courses are where we develop a practical, experiential understanding of awakening the spirit through storytelling, tracking ourselves and each other, music, dance, and breathwork.

All courses are offered three times each calendar year beginning in September and require a 10-week commitment.  Classes are held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. one night a week.

It is not unusual that help is needed to process issues that arise outside of class as some very deep emotional places are explored.  Private sessions are available to meet this need.

Foundations of Kundalini Mediumship

Foundations Courses promote honest relationships through uncovering and integrating rejected identities.

These classes teach the basic philosophy of Kundalini Mediumship and how to experience and relate to Kundalini directly.

They are designed to understand patterns of thoughts and rejected identities which unconsciously direct behaviors and transform them through connection to others and the internal practice of breath and bandhas.  Specific elements of the classes include:

  • basic storytelling and tracking

  • channeling Spirit through

    • music (both rhythms and song)

    • movement and dance

    • breath and bandhas

It is strongly recommended that those wishing to participate in Foundations Courses first familiarize themselves with Spirit House at the Individual Sessions level.  This will help both the prospective student and practitioner determine the optimal timing for beginning work in a group setting.

It is also recommended that at least three rounds of Foundations Courses are completed before moving on to the Advanced level to ensure the underlying philosophy is understood and breath work and bandhas are robust enough to push into deeper places.

Advanced Kundalini Mediumship

Advanced Courses inspire meaning and purpose through ongoing dialogue with Spirit and in the community.

The Advanced Course has the same basic structure as Foundations with a few key differences:

  • Tracking is more intense and participants can expect to have their triggers and walls pushed on harder and do the same to other class members.

  • The relationship of connecting with the authentic self and tracking is explored.

  • In-class work is integrated into the outside world with participants holding themselves and each other accountable for “doing their homework”.

  • Authenticity in intimate relationships is encouraged.

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following skills will be deepened:

    • storytelling and tracking

    • music (both rhythms and song)

    • movement and dance

    • energetic bodywork

Kundalini Mediumship Practitioner

Practitioner Courses prepare the dedicated traveler with Spirit to teach the philosophy and elements of Kundalini Mediumship.

If, after completing Advanced Courses, a burning desire is ignited to cultivate a life devoted to Spirit, the Practitioner Courses are available to further that goal.

This is a minimum of a one-year commitment consisting of three 10-week sessions.  At the end of this course, students will have the intellectual understanding of the material required to teach or lead a skill-specific class or step into other facilitating roles.

Spirit House Culture and Interpersonal Agreements

Personal responsibility and care for others:

  • Aligning the values developed in Spirit House with self, family, friends, ancestors, and Spirits.

  • Bringing up and staying present with interpersonal issues that arise through the fundamental contracts of Tracking while also honoring personal boundaries around openness and vulnerability.

  • Creating a collaborative space that encourages practice, making mistakes, and receiving feedback.

  • Committing to the development of one’s unique “medicine.”

  • Doing homework and practicing fundamentals daily.
